Decree on compulsory SI programs for foreign employees to be issued before October 15

This is the noticeable content of the Resolution No. 124/NQ-CP declared in the Government’s regular meeting held in September 2018.

According to the Resolution, the Government will request the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, and the Ministry of Finance, to submit the following Decrees to the Prime Minister for his approval and ratification ahead of October 15, 2018:
 
- Decree elaborating on the Law on Social Security and the Law on Occupational Safety and Hygiene regarding the SI program for workers who are foreign nationals working in Vietnam;
 
- Decree prescribing standards and norms for use of motor vehicles.
 
Besides, the Resolution clarifies tasks to be performed by Ministries in order to make great progress in the remaining months of 2018, including:
 
- The Ministry of Planning and Investment must imperatively draft the Law on Public Investment (amended) which needs to be presented in the 6th plenum of the National Assembly;
 
- The Ministry of Education and Training must prepare a general explanatory report on issues relating to school textbooks to which voters and the National Assembly’s deputies pay attention for submission to the National Assembly prior to its 6th plenum. 
 
The Resolution No. 124/NQ-CP enters into force from October 6, 2018.
